My Visit to The Microsoft Store
So my family and me went to the Galleria the other day and my wife saw The Microsoft Store and asked me if I wanted to go check it out. Naturally I said yes, the geek in me could not resist. Once in I was quickly disappointed, they to my honest surprise do not offer any discount or incentive to shop there. So as I wound my way through the store looking at basically everything I have already seen and or played with I find myself over by the Windows Phone 7's. These to be sure are at first glance nice looking and smooth to operate. Then here comes the sale floor guy to ruin it all. So as I am getting my first opportunity to tinker with these fine marvels of technology the sales guy pipes up and says "Yo, how you be likin the Win phone 7?" I look over at him with a confused look then go back to staring at the phone not believing I was just approached and talked to like I was a gangster in this store. And so he continues with more ghetto conversation telling me I think all about the features of the phones like how I can use Office applications and well that is pretty much the gist of what he was pushing, So when I said I use a Android phone with Google Docs and was able to do anything I wanted with it he just walked away. There you have it folks, Microsoft's way of acknowledging Google is winning this round.

The Tides be a changing........... again.
Well once more it is time to completely switch career fields. Although this time I was forced out of what I was doing. As a side note this career change thing is nothing new (to me) as I have done this several times in my past. This go around is a bit different in the fact that I was hit with a out of left field lay off (my opinion is that the decision was not thought through and I might have even been stuck in the back with a knife by a co-worker).
Anyway pick up and move on, so I am now pursuing the petro-chemical industry and working toward a chemical plant operator spot. I have started working for a service company for now just to have the income and although the hours are different the money is much better. The biggest change to the career shift this time is my wonderful wife. She does not handle change all that well and she is understandably nervous about the unknown.
I am confident in the fact that this will workout and well and I know she believes me as well as in me, so here we go.

Christm-ass 2010
Worst Holiday season ever.
My two great children are sick and miserable, my wonderful wife is just as bad off. I have spent the last 24 hrs trying my best to help where I can cleaning up bodily fluids (yes all of them) and doing laundry and trying to make a 4 year old understand she can not eat whatever she wants when she is throwing up.
I seem to be making my parents mad at every turn. No matter what my decision is or why it is wrong and I am unreasonable. Like I need that stress. GET OVER IT.
Bills are piling up and I am tapped out. Which bring me to my job. We are going through a contract change (for the last year and a half) and we are down to the last couple of weeks. I still do not have an offer letter from the new company (no one does) and the uncertainty is driving me bat shit. I really need my vacation payout check and as it looks that will have to wait until late in January.
My sister and new nephew have been in town almost a week now and I have seen them for about an hour and a half thus far and that sucks. My uncle and his family are in town from Florida and I have not even gotten a phone call.
Christmas presents are bought (not all I wanted to do but no money. Kids are covered though) but still need to be wrapped.
The only thing I can say is this year Christmas can SUCK IT BIG TIME!
p.s.
Anyone have a problem with me using Christmas over Holiday you can suck it as well. I am not even religious and I am all for Christmas. This whole Holiday Season BS can go blow.

Fall is here.
I keep forgetting about this blog and I wish to try and be better about it. Not sure I have much to say at the moment though......
Halloween was good, kids had fun. Tomorrow is election day, would be nice to get rid of that dip shit Perry. Also I would like for NASA to get off their ass and resolve my companies contract, sitting in limbo sucks big balls.
more to come soon.

Summer Time
Cassie made it through the school year with passing grades. She will be moving on to 8th grade in the fall, we are very proud of her. Dannie is starting her summer session of gymnastics and doing very well.
My wonderful wife is in full swing for Roller Derby (game 6-12-10) @ there new location th House of Derby (HOD).
My job is still in limbo between Meetings and Events Operations and Installation... waiting to see if that will change before too much longer. I am trying to get a bump up to the Maintenance Department.
Amanda and I are looking forward to the Blue October concert in July (24th) @ the House of Blues (second show)

This Month...
May is Zombie Awareness Month.
You should check your weapons and ammo stocks, also make sure your evac plan is solid and everyone involved is updated on new changes for the year.
The world relies on tech too much these days and when the apocalypse comes it will be a rude awakening for most people. Be ready for some mid-evil times people, it will take some getting used to and be awhile before infrastructure is back up and running if at all.
I'm just saying.

I have a new dream/goal.....
Let me just start out that this unfortunately will be a long term goal/dream before it comes to pass.
My wonderful and very wise wife told me awhile back (like two or three months ago) that I should get a bike like the Honda Goldwing or something that we can ride together and take trips on. At the time I was like sure baby sounds fun (whatever I ride sport bikes only, always have always will, dammit!).
Now here we are sometime later and I can not get that out of my head.... to the point I (over the last two or three weeks) have been reading about Honda Goldwing bikes online and doing "my research" that I do on most anything I am interested in. OK, so here is the nuts and bolts. I want (need) one of these bikes, I can forsee my wife and myself riding the open rode taking trips to Michigan, Utah, Washington and Virginia as well as many other places on one of these fine riding machines.
From my research I have discovered that I want a 2004 model or newer, however the "basic" comfort package is plenty good although I will not turn away an upgrade to the NAV or ABS package if the deal is a good one. Also I will be wanting the 1500cc at least but would prefer the 1800cc model.

Although I think I like the black model best a lighter color might be the best option for visibility reasons.
So anyway now you know my goal, thy will be done!

Current and upcoming activites.
WOW what a busy month we seem to be having.
Cassie's birthday went well and all the girls had some fun.
Work never seems to stop (I'm not bitching about it) new equipment to learn and systems I am installing keeps me busy most of the time.
My wonderful wife is helping plan my sisters wedding (one week and two days from now). Crunch time.
I am taking my two beautiful daughters to the beach tis weekend so I can do my part for my sister (I am building an arch for the ceremony).
My wife and her gang of Roller Derby girls (SSRD) just left out this afternoon for Corpus to take on the league from there on Friday night. Good luck ladies!!!!
Alas I need to get my new tire for the bike soon (I am hoping to get this done on Saturday) as I am starting to show some steel belts a bit. I know I know!
I would like to think October will be not as busy, however I think I should know better.

Labor Day 09 and the rest of the week...
Got me some disk golf in today with Mike. I even found a disk in the brush when I was forging for one of mine. No name or number on it so it's all mine now, sweet!
Helped with some cleaning after that then mowed the front yard. Dannie and I made some din din tonight. It was a new recipe that my honey dug up and sounded real good. It was a red potato and has casserole and Dannie loves to help her Dad-i cook so here we go chair pulled up to the counter, dad getting all the stuff out.. "i want to help" just a minute baby let me get the thing out. so we start to boil water for the taters and get the other ingredients prepped. i get a big bowl and Dannie starts to pour the items into the bowl with some assistance and then we mix. And away she goes to making a small mess ( she mixes with the authority of a tornado) taters get done and we add then and mix some more then pour into a glass baking dish and top with bread crumbs and melted butter, and toss it in the oven. What a helper! unfortunately I think I was the only one who liked it, my honey said it was sweet Dannie only wanted fruit and Sassy just did not seem to like it much. Oh well better luck next time.
Now Dannie did not take a nap today so she was very short tempered and cranky all evening but her big sis tried to help out a bit and painted her nail after dinner a nice shade of pink while watching Simpson's then it was off to bed for her.
Now is some relaxing time for the rest of us as we unwind from a very busy and productive day.
One more day off for me then back to work on Wed. Cassie goes back to her smart kid classes tomorrow so it will be my honey bunny Dannie and myself tomorrow. I might try to get the back yard mowed and and and???????? Hmmmmm not sure what else but I am sure something will come up.
Ah yes the Shuttle lands on Thurs. so I will be working later on Friday with the Crew Return, however before that we have a Cassie lou birthday family thing on Thursday after work I think Olive Garden dinner. Should be Yummy.
